Wiley Releases new single ‘Heatwave’ on July 30th on Warner Bros. Records
WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO HERE:
“He’s predictably unpredictable, an innovator who doesn’t take himself too seriously… you’d be a fool to ignore him.” – NME
Wiley, the godfather of grime, returns with the new single ‘Heatwave’ which will be released on July 30th on Warner Bros. Records.
Featuring a huge pop hook courtesy of guest vocalist Ms D (who also featured on Chipmunk’s #1 hit ‘Oopsy Daisy’), the immediately addictive ‘Heatwave’ is full of scorching seasonal references and looks set to soundtrack the rest of the summer. The track was produced by Rymez (Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah).
Already playlisted at Kiss, 1Xtra and Choice, ‘Heatwave’ again demonstrates Wiley’s ability to create crossover hits that maintain his longstanding underground credibility, as he has previously demonstrated with the singles ‘Wearing My Rolex’ (#2), ‘Never Be Your Woman’ (#8), ‘Cash In My Pocket’ (#19) and ‘Take That’ (#20).
Wiley has a rich history in collaborating with breaking new talent, having seen the likes of Emeli Sandé, Ed Sheeran, Tinie Tempah, Daniel Merriweather and Tinchy Stryder feature on his tracks. He has also featured as a guest artist on recordings from Dizzee Rascal, Ed Sheeran, Jodie Connor and Chipmunk.
Founder member and leader of the Roll Deep collective who had two #1 singles with ‘Good Times’ and ‘Green Light’, Wiley has also proved to be one of the most prolific artists around. To date, he has released nine studio albums including ‘Evolve or Be Extinct’ which was released in January. Covering topics from ordering a taxi to being stopped by immigration, it also delves into his psyche on tracks such as ‘Weirdo’ (“I’m a weirdo but I’m not a bi-polar”), ‘Miss You’ and ‘Scar’ (in reference to the cut on his face). The album earned glowing reviews across the board from publications as diverse as NME, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Sun, Metro, Q, Mojo, Clash and Artrocker.
Wiley remains one of the biggest characters and wildest talents in British music. Whether helping younger artists break through, offloading hundreds of unreleased tracks on Twitter, or doling out private insights on the web, he is always in the studio.
Sway drops the visuals for his London inspired track ‘Song For The City’ featuring the talented Ed Drewett and the Highgate Wood School choir and is taken from ‘The Deliverance’ album. The video was directed by Sway and Bubz (Dcypha films). Sways new album ‘The Deliverance’ will be released later this year…

Caktuz drops this new single as part of his “#OverTheWallWeds.” weekly free download campaign.
Produced by DC musical maverick, Kokayi and featuring new songstress Bird (short for Blaque Bird), “Anti” smacks you in the face with a gritty bassline and angst filled hook.
“…All these speaches don’t mean nothin’, when these cops just shot my cousin, thats’ why I’m anti!”
The high energy of this track is sure to be a banger not only in the european club scene, but an anthem in the hood for rebellion.
SYNOPSIS: For HOMEBOY 1
HOMEBOY Urbangemz Productions Homeboy(2010) is a short urban comedy set in inner city South London. Written & Directed by Gary Lee Haynes the film revolves around the central character Homeboy and his exploits during one day of his life. Living on his own, a hip hop head, and a budding producer with a taste for good weed and girls Homeboy’s door is always knocking. On this particular day Homeboy has to deal with a range of characters. These include, bible bashers, the local wack rapper, his weed man, the feds, the local thug/bully, his girlfriends and his friend blacker, who robs a ladies handbag and decides to hide out at Homeboy’s house. The film is a humourus observation into everyday inner city life. It takes everyday events and characters that most of us are familiar with and puts a comedy spin on it. Homeboy is set in two parts. Part one gives the audience an introduction to the characters, the setting and starts the mishaps and events that will lead and continue into part two..
SYNOPSIS: For HOMEBOY 2 – The next episode
After Blacka running into his house after committing a street robbery, setting up Specimen with the feds, getting a bible basha high, another terrible studio session with Wack Rappa and his 2 girlfriends meeting for the first time at his house, the sequel to “Homeboy” sees Homeboy dealing with the ramifications of the previous day’s events. “Homeboy 2 (The Next Episode)” continues the exploits and adventures of your everyday Homey on the block. With new characters and situations, will Homeboy ever get any peace to make his beats?
Rapper J-Lie calls on Dip Set capo Jim Jones for an assist on “Get It on the Low”, a single from his forthcoming mixtape, Ears First, Hearts Next, due later this month. “I am here to get the attention of your ears first and then your heart next,” J-Lie says of the project. “‘Get It on the Low’ is the start of that mission. Everything I have been through prior to get to this point almost doesn’t count. Welcome to my world.” Raised in both L.A. and Atlanta, the South African-South Korean entertainer showcases both his rhyming and crooning talents in the visuals, which take place in various locations from rooftops to clubs. “The city tatted on my chest/ No Vinny but my entourage on Turtle’s neck/ Chokehold, on top, never sittin’ middle/ Two hands on that… no double dribble,” he raps. The former athlete is prepping for an upcoming Brazilian tour and dates in Japan this summer.

Song of the Day – i-D
2012 better be ready. YADi isn’t like other pop musicians. Poised, petite and powerful, she exploded onto the blogsphere last year with ‘Sahara Heart’, a love song set upon the knife-edge of defiance and defeat. It garnered support across the board and quickly became i-D’s ‘Track of the Day’. It’s included on her debut EP ‘Guillotine’ which is released on 14th May.
At just 24, she is a beautiful bundle of contradictions, the product of a genetic cocktail that mixes Algerian on her father’s side with Norwegian and Italian on her mother’s. For YADi – born in South London – her music is an aural kaleidoscope of influences, one that mixes the music of her heritage with the pop of the future, creating a forward-thinking sound that sets her apart from the crowd.
In the live arena, YADi stalks the stage with a slinky prowess – a feline with the roar of a tiger and a revolutionary zeal. Joining her on stage are Chris Hutchings and Max Taylor, both of whom she met on the thriving London music scene and who cut their teeth in Tom Vek’s band. Her performances, which resonate with a volcanic pulse, a cathartic outpouring of emotion and passion as if her very existence was dependent upon it, have won her many champions including Marina and the Diamonds and CSS, both of whom YADi has supported. Behind her flies the YADi flag, its four colours representing each country that encompasses part of her background.

The saying “Good things come in threes” seems to be literally applied to trailblazing SAS who has recently found themselves teaming up with chart heavy weight Chipmunk and Cire (Formally known as Eric B) to produce their new anthem ‘Ready’. The north London based stars created ‘Ready’ with producer SX who has previously worked with Wretch 32, Chipmunk and Skepta.
Supported by Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood, Radio 1 Xtra’s Ace and Vis and Kiss FM’s Manny Norte, SAS released their mixtape ‘Galaxy Fly’ last year early November which helped them reach a wider audience after featuring artists from all over the world including Chiddy Of Chiddy Bang, Cam’ron of Dip’set, MI, and Corte Ellis (a singer/songwriter whom has written songs for the likes of Britney Spears and Beyoncé.).
SAS have also been co-sign by Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and Busta Rhymes and after being played on Hot 97 in the states it helped them to develop their affiliation with US artists, they soon went on to opening up shows for Kanye West and Juelz Santana.
With Chipmunk displaying his ‘transition’ after the release of his top ten softmore album and Cire who wrote Chris Brown’s contribution to Chipmunk’s number two single ‘Champion’ as well as writing for JLS, it was only right that they teamed up with the ‘never seen, occasionally mentioned and internationally known’ SAS.
SAS are ‘Ready’ to leave their stamp on the UK music scene.

DJ Muggs has a CV that boasts productions not only for the incredible seven album he produced with Cypress Hill to which he is a founder member, but such time encapsulating classics as House of Pain’s “Jump Around”, Ice Cube’s “Check Yo Self” and his collective productions have chalked up no less than 20 million units! Not only that, he has released three albums to critical acclaim as Soul Assassins, which featured Dr Dre, B-Real, LA The Darkman, Mobb Deep, RZA, GZA, Goodie Mob, KRS One, Wyclef Jean, Prodigy, The Alchemist and many more artists across the LPs. Solo work, further collaborations such as the album Grandmasters with Wu Tang Klan’s GZA, just highlight what an important player DJ Muggs has been in the development of Hip Hop from the late 80′s, right through until today.
Currently on the road touring the Bass In Your Face events across the globe, to promote his new album of the same name, DJ Muggs takes on Brixton as the sole UK date, and Jamm are honoured to host this event.
Muggs is known for his dusty sound, eerie beats, soul-driven beats, rock samples, and hard hitting drums and bass, so will lead the charge alongside a line up that doesn’t rest with the headline, but also offers the cream of the UK hip hop and bass scene.
These UK artists playing on this night include Choice FMs DJ 279, first lady of hip hop Sarah Love, dubstep pioneer and Rinse FM’s DJ Chef, DJ, producer and founder of dubstep label Ghost Recordings El-B, founder of Sumting New and the BassFace label Cotti, Kiss FM’s MC Crazy D plus many more who you can see below.

Recently Jay-Z published his biography, Decoded. I’ve had it sitting around for a while, and only just really started reading it. I’ve gotta say its one of the few books that I’ve ever started and will definitely finish – I hate to read.
What sets this book apart from others is the structure of it, as the title ‘decoded’ suggests – it gives you an insight into the world of Jay-Z but, far more interestingly – his lyrics, there is page upon page of annotated lyrics explaining each little reference. For example, his lyric ‘I’m like Che Guevara with bling on’ comes from him wearing a Che Tee whilst in the studio doing an interview with someone – who noticed that he paired it with Biggie Small’s Jesus piece, and asked him if it ‘felt funny’ – he said it bridged the gap between the hustler and the superstar.
The book is less like a book and more like a scrap book for Jay’s history, its interesting and not too ‘text heavy’
You can get the book for the reduced price of £10.99 with free delivery (reduced from 20) from Amazon here

Remember the days you sat in a classroom and thought ‘what am I gonna need maths for, there are calculators’ or ‘what am I gonna need to spell for, there’s spell check’, today saw the introduction of Quest Visual’s new app Word Lens. This is an app that takes any text that you see in your phones camera, and translates it to the desired language. Its impossible to believe, but check the video.
Big up these guys man, wow- nice video!! Reminds me of the summer y’know..!

Lets be honest, for a long time now – if you care about what phone you’ve got, you either have an iphone or a Blackberry depending on personal preference. Nobody has really been able to challenge the power of BBM or the simplicity of the iphone’s operating system, but it looks as if Sony Ericsson are about to enter the ring with this unreleased Playstation phone.
The phone will probably run the ‘Android’ OS, but what sets this phone apart would be the custom ‘Sony Marketplace’ feature, which would allow you to download and purchase games specifically designed for the phone.
It looks as if the phone will be touch screen generally, and reserve the flip out controls for just gaming

A while back Apple announced that they were introducing ‘Facetime’ to their new iphone range – which would allow you to call anyone else with an iphone 4 and have a video call.
Yesterday, along with the announcement of new macbook Airs and a new operating system, Apple released Facetime for Mac – a desktop app that means the ‘facetime’ movement has broadened.
I’m sure we’ll see a 3g facetime iphone by Christmas, but we’ll have to wait and see about that one
