Wiley | Heatwave feat. Ms.D (Official Video)
Wiley Releases new single ‘Heatwave’ on July 30th on Warner Bros. Records
WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO HERE:
“He’s predictably unpredictable, an innovator who doesn’t take himself too seriously… you’d be a fool to ignore him.” – NME
Wiley, the godfather of grime, returns with the new single ‘Heatwave’ which will be released on July 30th on Warner Bros. Records.
Featuring a huge pop hook courtesy of guest vocalist Ms D (who also featured on Chipmunk’s #1 hit ‘Oopsy Daisy’), the immediately addictive ‘Heatwave’ is full of scorching seasonal references and looks set to soundtrack the rest of the summer. The track was produced by Rymez (Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah).
Already playlisted at Kiss, 1Xtra and Choice, ‘Heatwave’ again demonstrates Wiley’s ability to create crossover hits that maintain his longstanding underground credibility, as he has previously demonstrated with the singles ‘Wearing My Rolex’ (#2), ‘Never Be Your Woman’ (#8), ‘Cash In My Pocket’ (#19) and ‘Take That’ (#20).
Wiley has a rich history in collaborating with breaking new talent, having seen the likes of Emeli Sandé, Ed Sheeran, Tinie Tempah, Daniel Merriweather and Tinchy Stryder feature on his tracks. He has also featured as a guest artist on recordings from Dizzee Rascal, Ed Sheeran, Jodie Connor and Chipmunk.
Founder member and leader of the Roll Deep collective who had two #1 singles with ‘Good Times’ and ‘Green Light’, Wiley has also proved to be one of the most prolific artists around. To date, he has released nine studio albums including ‘Evolve or Be Extinct’ which was released in January. Covering topics from ordering a taxi to being stopped by immigration, it also delves into his psyche on tracks such as ‘Weirdo’ (“I’m a weirdo but I’m not a bi-polar”), ‘Miss You’ and ‘Scar’ (in reference to the cut on his face). The album earned glowing reviews across the board from publications as diverse as NME, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Sun, Metro, Q, Mojo, Clash and Artrocker.
Wiley remains one of the biggest characters and wildest talents in British music. Whether helping younger artists break through, offloading hundreds of unreleased tracks on Twitter, or doling out private insights on the web, he is always in the studio.

The British born/ NYC raised Hustler, Rapper, Poet, Actor, Novelist and Community Activist began his music career literally on the streets of South London after 18 years as a Tri-state resident, the last three of which were spent in the custody of NY’s County, City, State and Federal Institutions. His departure from the US transplanted him from The Bronx, NY housing projects to the council estates of Brixton, UK. A rich translation of not only accents, but of culture, mind state and inner city customs… An Immigrant’s Tale.
Whoisparadise’s career highlights include a MOBO Nomination, Winner of Best UK Hip-Hop Act TWICE with the critically acclaimed 57th Dynasty albums “Spoken Word” and “Boro 6 Vol.2″, 1st indie produced mainstream UK Hiphop Video, Love of Hiphop; Guy Ritchie’s Mean Machine OST, C.E.O of Edutainment venture TGSMP featuring KRS-One & Skinnyman, the lead part in Glyndebourne’s critically acclaimed Hip-h’opera, School 4 Lovers; VH1′s Music First Special; winner 2010-11 Our Heroes Community Campaigner Award, to present – Charity Director, Young People Matter; workshop facilitator of One Spirit at HMP Feltham Young Offenders Institute, all the whilst creatively advising a new wave of talented UK artists including Amplify Dot, Coldsteps and video vixen Noni Zondi.
WHOISPARADISE [formerly Paradise The Prolific] is an Ambassador for the Youts. The Int’l Multipreneur uses his own troubled past as the prequel for balancing art with purpose. A past which places him in a unique position of earned street credibility when championing a lesser kudos’ sociopolitical subject matter. After exile from the USA, his prison poetry was set to the musical landscapes crafted by Brixton producer, Charlie “Baptist” Parker. Since his return from hiatus, Whoisparadise has featured on the MOBO nominated Afro-beats hit ‘We Are Africans (Remix)’ and most recently, ‘United We Stand’ featuring Magnum and video vixen Noni Zondi.
2012 KICKED-OFF with a truly personal show stopping live performance “Artist Salute” on FWD360.com‘s Wreck Sessions original series, marking his official return. A soulful, guitar ridden acoustic reunion with long time collaborator/producer, Charlie Parker [Baptist C Parker] delighted the intimate industry audience with their rendition of the soon to be released “Two4Se7en 3Six5″ – feat MCD. With talks of further collaborations to include Lowkey, Logic & The People’s Army, neo-soul singer Omar, PDC, Babz (Squeeze4P$), Akala, Genesis Elijah, and more; FWD360.com‘s Wreck Sessions is Whoisparadise’s 2012 catalyst for revolutionary global Hip-Hop. DJ Muggs has a CV that boasts productions not only for the incredible seven album he produced with Cypress Hill to which he is a founder member, but such time encapsulating classics as House of Pain’s “Jump Around”, Ice Cube’s “Check Yo Self” and his collective productions have chalked up no less than 20 million units! Not only that, he has released three albums to critical acclaim as Soul Assassins, which featured Dr Dre, B-Real, LA The Darkman, Mobb Deep, RZA, GZA, Goodie Mob, KRS One, Wyclef Jean, Prodigy, The Alchemist and many more artists across the LPs. Solo work, further collaborations such as the album Grandmasters with Wu Tang Klan’s GZA, just highlight what an important player DJ Muggs has been in the development of Hip Hop from the late 80′s, right through until today.
Currently on the road touring the Bass In Your Face events across the globe, to promote his new album of the same name, DJ Muggs takes on Brixton as the sole UK date, and Jamm are honoured to host this event.
Muggs is known for his dusty sound, eerie beats, soul-driven beats, rock samples, and hard hitting drums and bass, so will lead the charge alongside a line up that doesn’t rest with the headline, but also offers the cream of the UK hip hop and bass scene.
These UK artists playing on this night include Choice FMs DJ 279, first lady of hip hop Sarah Love, dubstep pioneer and Rinse FM’s DJ Chef, DJ, producer and founder of dubstep label Ghost Recordings El-B, founder of Sumting New and the BassFace label Cotti, Kiss FM’s MC Crazy D plus many more who you can see below.

RD Chat With The Urban Directory
With the UK currently awash with tawdry pop tack, RD are a nod back to the glory days when sassy girl groups – En Vogue, Salt ‘N’ Pepa, TLC and the like – ruled the roost.
The London-based trio are bringing some much needed kick and snare to the urban scene. But what’s making RD – so named because it sums up what the girls feel they are – stand head and shoulders above the competition are the sultry vocals of Troy, 22, and Martika, 18, coupled with the fast paced emceeing delivered by Chronz, 21.

CHROME – WAKE UP [OFFICIAL VIDEO]
Brand new video from Chrome for his new single Wake Up produced by LP and JC (@lpandjc on twitter) being released September 19th on Mad Energy Records.
Video Directed by James Harford
WAKE UP is the new single by London based singer/songwriter CHROME. Best known for his vocal contributions to two UK number 1 records with Dizzee Rascal (Holiday and Dance Wiv Me) Chrome sets out on his own with this genre blurring smash.
Produced by LP and JC (Devlin, Aggro Santos, Pixie Lott, StreetDance 3D) the track draws on the roots of both producers — JC started producing Drum n Bass records when he was 12 and by 14 was working with the legendary MCs Det and Skibadee whilst LP is a classically trained musician/composer turned urban and pop producer. Between them they have crafted an uplifting and energetic track beautifully complimented by Chrome’s thoughtful melodic prose and infectious chorus. It’s a feel-good conscious record with club sensibilities sure to be setting the airwaves and dance floors alight this summer.
Tyrone Emmanuel Paul, best known as CHROME, is a young free spirit who has turned his energies to singing and song writing in the last few years. Recently described by one record label exec as an edgier Taio Cruz with the vocal presence of John Legend, Chrome has collaborated with Dizzee Rascal on his first and third UK number 1 records and helped him become the pop megastar he is today.
Alongside the original is a killer remix package that includes a DnB remix by Digital Soundboy’s Benny Page, a Dubstep mix by hotly tipped up-and-comers Stinkahbell, a killa club mix by Cutmore and a Moombahton mix by Girls Music’s (Toddla T’s record label) David Heartbreak

S-X – 5,000 Followers EP
Ever since S-X – the 18 year old Wolverhampton producer – was catapulted to cult status following the release of “Woooo Riddim” (one of the biggest grime beats of all time), an entire genre has been anxious to see what the young prodigy has in store.
S-X describes his critically acclaimed productions as “S-X Music”, a sound of his own that he doesn’t want pigeon-holed… this has weaved throughout genres such as Hip-Hop for Chipmunk, bassline for Trilla and urban/pop for Encore. Due to initially being championed by the grime scene, and now working on everything from dance records with Roll Deep to trap records with Cash Money CEO Birdman, S-X thought it was only right to thank his initial supporters by making his 5,000 Followers EP strictly at 140bpm. While still being a sound of his own and incorporating an eclectic mix of influences, the “5,000 Followers EP” is a nod to the scene that gave the wonderkid his initial break.
Add to this Dizzee Rascal‘s long-awaited return to grime on D Double E‘s S-X produced “Bluku! Bluku!” single; despite S-X having his sites firmly set on the charts and working with some of the biggest names on both sides of the Atlantic, it’s clear to see that the young Wolverhampton native doesn’t need church bells to channel the sound of Bow.
While it’s still early days, all indicators seem to suggest that we’re witnessing the rise of who’s set to become the first ever global super-producer to emerge from the grime scene.

CAKTUZ – “STILL N THE HOOD: A SHORT MASSACRE” – VIDEO
North Carolina rapper Caktuz drops his new long form video Still N The Hood: A Short Massacre with indie singer TreZure Empire. The gritty video was shot on location in New York and North Carolina, and includes a violently-disturbing montage of footage from a long lost race riot known as the “Greensboro Masacre.”
The Greensboro massacre occurred on November 3, 1979 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Five Anti-Klan protest marchers were shot and killed by members of the Ku Klux Klan and the American Nazi Party. Most of the armed confrontation was filmed by four local news camera crews.
Caktuz & TreZure remix an old Nina Simone classic “Feelin’ Good” over Method Man & mary J Blige’s “All I Need” while random shots of “the hood” wiz by in this fast pace 7 minute music video. Directed by Caktuz, the video can only be viewed at his website www.caktuztree.com or by clicking on the video link below.

“Lightning in a bottle”…Is the term that best describes North Carolina hip hop artist Caktuz [pronounced Cactus]. This country strange fruit has been tearing down stages and walls from NYC to the UK, pushing his infectious brand of music & art on to the world. A provactive performer and profound lyricist, Caktuz’s music is sometimes a surreal experience through stirring musical compositions and trunk rattling hip hop beats.

Caktuz has worked with such artists as Bilal, dead prez, Boot Camp Clik, SA-RA, The Dey, Brand Nubian, M.O.P., Young Guru, Michael K. Williams aka Omar from HBO’s Emmy Nominated The Wire and many more. He is a Carolina blues man by blood. His first album, (the critically acclaimed) 2 Hevi 4 Heaven, established Caktuz’s place in the industry as a musical and genre innovator. Creating his own ‘Carolina Bluez’ sound and weaving live performance art into his stage shows, set him apart from the rest.

THE WAIT IS OVER- GET GMT II HERE!!
Youngs Teflon started writing his first bars in his early teens and quickly took those talents from playgrounds and alleys, to studio sessions recording with NAA. After a partial gap from the scene from 2006 to 2008 enticed by the streets, the once rough diamond came back sharper than ever. Linking with the South London wizard Carns Hill creating a sound and formula that continues to amaze.
From the first Mixtape, Tef London, interest was stirred around these phantom beats and cryptic lyrics, and the streets responded, paving the way for further experimentation and the classic result of GMT-1. A Matured, classy mix of soul and Jazz and real lyrics it proved to be a slap in the face of mainstream rap and a blessing to all those in the know. Soon followed ‘Call of Duty’ and it was right back below underground, a tribute to the streets. With a delicate affinity for lyrics, and a relaxed, natural flow that has become the talk of the London underground scene, Tef has been cooking it up again, 2010 has seen the release of ‘Over The Head’ a lengthy collection of bangers and bars for days, refining a style yet to be considered.
